The Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) is a third-level educational and research institution based in Dublin, Ireland which awards degrees up to and including PhD level. It comprises four colleges: Engineering and the Built Environment; Science and Health; Business; and Arts and Tourism. It currently has approximately 20,000 students.

It specialises in energy device/systems development and policy research across three main themes: smart networks; energy storage; and renewable energy systems. Other research areas include: transport; behavioural economics; and marketing. DEL has been involved in a variety of studies involving multiple stakeholders in energy-related industries. DIT has extensive experience of participating in coordinating national and international research projects.
